Sober living facilities provide supportive, safe, and sober housing. They are ideal for people who are exiting residential drug rehab programs, are enrolled in outpatient drug rehab programs, or who do not have a stable living environment or supportive sober network.
Sober living residents benefit from a shared commitment through community rules, curfew, house responsibilities, and attending weekly recovery meetings. Residents have the flexibility to leave the home as needed, which allows for opportunities to gradually take on more tasks and personal responsibilities as they adjust to sober life outside of rehab.
Additionally, sober living residents have the valuable benefit of a built-in peer support system. Having a strong social support system is proven to help people stay sober longer. If utilized, the community prevents loneliness and isolation, which is often one of the challenges of early recovery.
SIR House offers a balanced mixture of personal freedom and structured living. This encourages healthy coping strategies and daily habits that help residents maintain lasting sobriety.
